I’ve never met a person who doesn’t like guacamole… never. Of course there are variations, but it’s pretty much always amazing. Wait, I take that back… my dad definitely made me an awkward batch or two. Dad, brother, and I road tripped to Mexico a lot when I was little. I remember a crappy hotel, some mayo, a couple avos, and a jar of salsa… bleh. Correction: besides that weirdo concoction, it’s always good. This is one simple- a little heat, a little dash of seasoning, and a lot of fresh avocado and lime. I like simple when it comes to guac.
INGREDIENTS
3 large avocados (I use Hass)
1/4 onion, finely diced (I typically opt for red)
1 garlic clove, finely minced
2 small tomatoes (or 1 large), chopped
1 lime, juiced
1/2 jalapeno, seeds removed, finely minced
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp pepper
small handful cilantro leaves, chopped
*taste and adjust seasonings as desired- depending on avo size, onion potency, etc,
you may want more salt, lime, spices, etc- I tend to start light, and then add as I go 🙂
DIRECTIONS
Slice avocados in half, slice, and scopp into a large bowl
Add diced onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro, and lime juice
Stir together- add spices and salt
Check and adjust favors as needed
Finely chop jalapeno into teeny pieces
I add them last so that I can get my desired heat precisely right
Start with 1/4 of pepper and add as you want- I personally like more heat
Stir together everything until nearly smooth
Chill until ready to eat
Serve with chips, veggies, or whatever you like and enjoy!!
